We are off on vacation on Wednesday for 2 1/2 weeks - FINALLY! We are SO looking forward to doing a little hiking, a little exploring, a little lazing around (well, except for Matthew that is). We've got new DVDs and toys for the flight. Upgraded us all to first class with our miles - why not?
Things are going really well with speech therapy - lots and lots of new words these day, and he's moved into using 2 word combos, which is a big step. Hopefully missing three weeks won't hurt progress.
And - I got a new car. Finally! The Xterra was great but the damn thing overheated every day, and Nissan wanted $1000 to fix it. It was only worth about $5k, so I just bailed, sold it to Carmax and bought a 2006 Acura MDX Touring with all the bells and whistles - navigation system, rear seat DVD player, backup camera, you name it. It's a sweet ride - black leather and zebra wood interior, a khaki metallic green exterior. So we are officially a two Acura family these days.
Matthew likes the new car but keeps saying "old car" and pointing out all the Xterras that go by. Sorry, kiddo, no looking back!

Everyone's a critic
I walked into Matthew's room the other morning to get him ready to go see Miss Stacey, and the minute I open the door, he's saying, "NO Mommy no!" and I'm trying to figure out what he could possibly be saying no to (he was just calling for me on the monitor to come get him out of the crib). So as I approach the crib, he's pointing to my shirt (a striped button down, worn open over a camisole) and shaking his head emphatically. He doesn't like my shirt, apparently. Refused to get out of the crib until I took it off and just wore the camisole. I guess he was embarrassed to be seen with me!
And here I was thinking I wouldn't have to deal with that because I have a son and not a daughter... ha!

Sick, sick, sick.
We're all sick - James brought some evil bug back from Japan with him, and we are all suffering the consequences. I'm in the best shape and James is in the worst. Matt Matt is okay - no more fever now, just a little cough, but it's disrupting his sleep and messing with naptime. :-(
We keep missing our speech therapy sessions. Fingers crossed we are well enough to go tomorrow.
